UPS F.202

EXTRA HEAVY DUTY DEGREASER

DECRIPTION :
UPS F. 202 is a highly alkaline powder product, containing wetting agents. Used for the removal of oil and grease deposits from steel, cast iron. The product is not suitable for aluminum and its alloys, and other non-ferrous metals. UPS F. 202 is predominantly used in dipping process.

PRODUCT USES :
UPS F. 202 is predominantly used for the degreasing of pressed metal sheet, e.g. prior to enameling. Lacquering and electroplating. For the removal of hardened lubricants on drawn sheet metal. Also for use in repair shops for the removal of abstinate grease deposits from machine parts. UPS F. 202 can be used for the electrolytic degreasing of drawn steel parts.

APPLICATION :
Mix the UPS F. 202 with pre-heated water ( not exceeding 60 ° C ). Observe safety precautions ! concentration range between 1 – 5 %.  Higher concentrations than 5% causes separation of wetting agent components.
The higher the solution temperature the better the cleaning effect. An agitated solution facilitates the cleaning even more ( steam, not compressed air ). For steel parts a maximum temperature of 80 ° C is recommended since deposits of dried cleaning solution cannot be removed by rinsing with water. Contact time ranges between 1 and 20 minutes and depends on the amount of deposits to be removed.
After degreasing rinse first with cold and then with hot water ( 50 – 60 ° C) and subsequently neutralize with an acid solution.
If the cleaned parts are not immediately processed after degreasing a rust preventing treatments is recommended after the last water rinse. A hot passivation solution facilitate the drying.
In addition use hot-air for thin sheets or flanged sheets.
UPS F. 202 in a concentration of 0,5 – 1,0% can be added to the acid bath as an acidic after degreasing solution for sheets with oily rust stains. Refer to special information sheet for this product.

SOLUTION CONTROL :
